Reverend Rene Norwood

 

Rev. Renee Norwood is a native of Washington, D.C. She is a former educator with 10 years experience teaching vocal music in the Prince Georges County School System. Her musical training & gift transferred to the church setting, where she directed youth & adult choirs, before accepting a call into ministry.  

Rev. Norwood was licensed to preach in 1998. She received a Master of Divinity Degree in 2002 from Wesley Theological Seminary, in Washington, DC with an emphasis in Pastoral Counseling. She was ordained an Itinerant Elder in the A.M.E. church in 2005 & is currently on the ministerial staff of Reid Temple AME church (North Location) where she is ministers in the area of Pastoral Counseling, Congregational Care, Prayer Ministry & the Restoration Center, Inc.
 
Rev. Norwood continued to pursue her interest in the field of Pastoral Counseling and received a Master of Science Degree in Pastoral Counseling in 2008 from Loyola College in Columbia, Maryland. She is a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor in the State of Maryland and is Nationally Board Certified. She is the Chaplain and Bereavement Counselor for Evercare Hospice where she provides pastoral care, spiritual support, guidance and professional counseling for the sick, terminally ill and those dealing with grief and loss.

Rev. Rene Norwood joined the consultants at Baraka & Associates in 2009. Her specialty area is grief & loss counseling.
